Thank You
February 6, 2015
Hey, guys, whatup?
I have no recipe for you today. But let’s not allow that to keep us from each other.
Today it’s all about me thanking you.
Because I need to tell you that I’m feeling blessed (and just for the record, I’m totally uncomfortable saying it!) that you guys visit this place every day, every week, every month, every year.
I’m still amazed I can reach so many of you.
It’s not only my mom, my sis, aunt G, and cousin Dan anymore. There are hundreds, thousands, millions (OK, maybe not millions) of you.
I feel so very grateful for this, words cannot express.
I won’t deny it, I put a lot of work in this blog — though it never feels like work — and I’m always
hoping to affect you in some ways.
Maybe inspire you to cook something different, trying something new, making healthier choices.
When you (aka the readers) respond, it makes me ecstatic.
I appreciate you guys reading my silliness more than you’ll ever know.
And I really appreciate when you try one of my recipes, like it and tell me about it (in a comment or via email). Seriously, every time it happens I’m like jumping for joy — just like Tom Brady after Malcolm Butler’s interception in the Super Bowl.
Then you guys go one step further, take a snapshot with your camera phone of the dish and post it either on Twitter, Instagram, or Facebook with the hashtag #TheIronYou (or tagging me in the picture) so that I can find it. And that’s so awesome, I don’t think there’s a proper word to describe it [I mean, look at all the goodness you have cooked over the past two years]
For real, I never expected so many of you would enjoy my recipes.
As I look at all the times one of you has said “This recipe is fantastic, thank you for sharing” or look at the pictures of the food you have cooked, all I can think to do at this moment is my happy dance (which is so grand I have a full on happy disco going on over here) and say
THANK YOU GUYS,
YOU ARE AWESOME!

ReplyDeleteCome visit Australia and I'll say it in person.
Am I champ? Really?
DeleteWe keep coming back because you keep posting interesting recipes. We just had your grapefruit/raspberry smoothie again this morning, and enjoyed it greatly. As expected. I just wish there was more time and more meals in every day so I could try more of your recipes. Susan
ReplyDeleteThank you so much Susan, I really appreciate that you come to this place often and leave your insightful comments. I really do.
DeleteThanks Mike. I started reading your blog with an interest in health and weight loss. Now I read it for tasty recipes which are healthy and calorie conscious as well. Keep up the good work and when ever you are in Seattle please drop me a note I would like to treat you to home coked meal.
ReplyDeleteOMG thank you so much, I love Seattle and I'll definitely drop you a line if I'll be in town.
DeleteMy only regret is that I did not find your blog sooner. But, better late than never, right?
ReplyDeleteI think what attracted me first to your site was your Iron Man status, because I have incredible admiration for those who are part of this super selective group. But what makes me come back all the time is the way you blog - naturally - I feel you are honest and you are not trying to be someone you are not, or trying to please a bunch of people because of ulterior motives. Basically, you are YOU. Take it or leave it.
and of course, I love all the recipes you post because I know they will not use 3 cups of heavy cream reduced with 2 cups of brown sugar and finished off with 3/4 cup of butter.
capisci? ;-)
Awww Sally, what can I say? I'm lost for words...
DeleteYour blog is the no.1 blog I go to when I need to get some inspiration. Already tried a lot of your recipies! Thank you so much. And also: those really great pictures you take! I wish I could eat those ;-)
ReplyDeleteGreetings from Austria!

ReplyDeleteSappy side? Did you just said 'sappy side'? Alpha is not happy with that!
DeleteYou are awesome. Always have adored your writing and healthy recipes. What more can say, but, I'm glad to know you my friend.
